Reliable Delivery’s Tips, Tricks and Rules for Moving Day
Below is important information that we send to all our customers prior to their move. Take a peek, these tips will surely help during your next move.
- Everything other than furniture should be packed in boxes, sealed and ready for loading on moving day unless packing services have previously been requested. No unboxed items will be transported.
- Mirrors and pictures over 3ft are safest left on the wall for the movers to wrap and secure properly.
- Books or other heavy items must be packed in small moving grade boxes.
- Lighter items should be packed in larger boxes, but no box should weigh more than 30 lbs. Overweight boxes will not be covered by insurance.
- Used boxes, non-moving grade boxes, press-board furniture or improperly packed boxes will not be covered by insurance.
- All items must be removed from the inside of your furniture. Furniture will not be moved unless empty.
- All electronic equipment and small kitchen appliances must be boxed.
- Plants, flammables, firearms, liquids and all pet furniture may not be transported on our trucks or handled by our movers due to liability and health regulations. Customer is responsible for moving these items on their own.
- For any overweight item (175lbs or more) requiring additional men; additional labor and drive time charges will be incurred.
- Pre-damaged or oversized furniture will require a liability waiver to be signed and will not be covered by insurance.
- No prior notice of an elevator could result in additional labor and drive time charges.
- Multiple flights of stairs, tight stairways, non-reserved elevators, long-distances to/from the truck will cause additional labor time. Please notify us immediately if these or similar scenarios apply so we may adjust your estimate.
- If required and requested, raising/lowering furniture out balconies/windows will require a $40 per floor fee due to liability.
- Payment is due at the end of your move so please remember not to pack your wallet!
