What Does Licensed and Insured Mean to me?

There are many local San Diego and Orange County moving companies being advertised on popular websites like Yelp, Angie’s List and Google that are not licensed and insured. This means they do not have the proper permits to be operating commercial trucks for the transportation of household goods. It also means that if your furniture, china, antiques, etc. were to break during your move, the company has no insurance to cover the damage costs and you will likely not be reimbursed. The worst part is, say one of the movers trips and falls during your move and is injured, you could be liable! It’s very important to make sure any moving company you’re considering is listed on the California Public Utilities Commission website.
